Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 16, 2026

This policy explains what Taskly collects, why, and what you can do about it. Written in plain English. If something here is unclear, text us at (650) 223-5975 and a real human will explain.

Who we are

Taskly is an iOS app that helps people with ADHD plan their day, run focus timers, and stay organized. The app is developed and operated by Crystal Botham (“we,” “us,” “Taskly”). You can reach us by text at (650) 223-5975.

What we collect

Only what’s needed to run the app. We do not sell your data, ever.

When you create an account:

  • Email address (used to sign you in)
  • Password (only if you sign up with email rather than Apple or Google; it is sent securely to our authentication provider, Supabase, which stores it hashed; Taskly never stores or sees your raw password)
  • A user ID that identifies your account
  • Whether your account has access to Taskly Pro (Apple processes all payments and we never see your payment details)

We do not collect your name. Sign in with Apple and Google sign-in are configured to share only your email address with us.

When you use the app (synced to your account):

  • Tasks you create (title, emoji, priority, time, duration, completion state, repeat settings, and subtasks)
  • Focus session history (duration, when it finished, and the label you gave it)
  • App settings (theme color, appearance, and feature toggles)

This content is backed up to your account so it can be restored if you reinstall the app or get a new phone. It lives in our database (hosted by Supabase), is encrypted in transit and at rest, and is protected so that only your signed-in account can read it.

When you use voice dictation (the microphone button when adding a task):

Taskly uses Apple’s built-in Speech Recognition framework to convert what you say into text. Depending on your iOS version, language, and device, transcription may happen on your device or be sent to Apple’s servers for processing. Apple’s own privacy policy explains how they handle audio: apple.com/legal/privacy

Taskly itself never records, stores, or has access to your raw audio. Only the resulting text ever reaches our app, and we treat it exactly like text you typed by hand.

You can turn voice input off completely by denying microphone or speech recognition permission in iPhone Settings. The rest of the app works without it.

When you use the assistant (the sparkle button):

Your message, and a snapshot of that day’s tasks (their titles and times), leave your device so the assistant can help you plan. They are used only to generate the reply, are not used to train AI models, and are never sold or used for advertising.

When you connect Apple Calendar (optional):

If you turn on the Apple Calendar option in Settings, Taskly reads your calendar events on your device so it can show them on your schedule. This is read only: Taskly never creates, changes, or deletes calendar events, and your calendar data is never uploaded to our servers.

What we do NOT collect:

  • Your name
  • Your location
  • Your contacts, photos, or files
  • Your browsing data
  • Anything for advertising or tracking
  • Anything from other apps on your device

Where your data lives

Your account record and your synced content (tasks, focus history, settings) live on Supabase, the service that hosts our sign-in and database. Supabase encrypts data at rest and in transit and is bound by its privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.

Apple and Google sign-in identity tokens are verified through Apple and Google. We never see your Apple ID or Google password.

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.

Your Apple Calendar events stay on your device.

How long we keep it

Your account and synced content are kept for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, everything goes with it, immediately and irreversibly.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your Taskly account from inside the app: open Settings, then Delete Account. This deletes your account record and all synced content (tasks, focus history, settings) from our servers, and clears the data stored on your device. If you’d rather not do it yourself, text (650) 223-5975 and we’ll process it within 30 days.

Subscriptions

Taskly is free to download and use. Taskly Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks extras like home screen widgets and theme colors. Billing is handled by Apple through the App Store, and we never see your payment details. You can cancel any time in your Apple account settings, and if you stop subscribing your tasks and account are not affected.

Children

Taskly is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has created a Taskly account, text us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California, similar laws elsewhere), you have rights to access the data we have about you, correct it if it’s wrong, delete it, export it in a portable format, and object to how we use it. Text (650) 223-5975 with what you want and we’ll get it done within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for significant changes, notify you inside the app.
